Payroll & HR Administrator

Reports To: Finance & Administrative Manager
Status: Full-Time (Approximately 40 hours/week)

Prairie Home Hospice is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll & HR Administrator to support our finance and leadership teams. This role is responsible for managing bi-weekly payroll, maintaining accurate employee records, coordinating benefits, and supporting day-to-day accounting and HR operations.

This position plays a vital role in ensuring our team members are paid accurately and supported professionally so they can focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll & Accounting

  • Process bi-weekly payroll, including timesheet review, PTO tracking, overtime, bonuses, and mileage
  • Maintain payroll records, deductions, garnishments, and direct deposits
  • Coordinate benefit enrollments and terminations
  • Assist with W-2 processing and year-end payroll tasks
  • Enter payroll and financial data into QuickBooks
  • Support accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and audit preparation
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations

Human Resources

  • Support recruitment, job postings, and onboarding processes
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee files
  • Coordinate benefits administration and serve as employee point of contact
  • Assist with FMLA tracking, workers’ compensation claims, and employment compliance
  • Support staff scheduling and general HR operations as needed

Qualifications

  • Experience in payroll processing and HR administration required
  • Working knowledge of payroll regulations and employment laws
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
