Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations with precision and enthusiasm. This pivotal role involves managing end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. As a Payroll Manager, you will play a crucial part in supporting our human resources and accounting teams, guaranteeing timely and accurate compensation for our dedicated staff. Duties

  • Oversee the complete payroll cycle, including data entry, calculations, and processing using payroll software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, or Ceridian.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations; prepare necessary reports for government agencies.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Manage benefits administration related to payroll deductions and contributions; coordinate with HRIS systems to update employee records accurately.
  • Maintain meticulous records of payroll transactions, tax filings, and employee data; perform regular audits to ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate with accounting teams on accounts payable/receivable processes and support governmental or non-profit accounting requirements.
  • Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors; implement corrective actions promptly to maintain accuracy.
  • Support the integration of various financial software tools such as QuickBooks or other accounting software for seamless financial management.
  • Assist in tax preparation activities related to payroll taxes; ensure timely submission of tax forms and payments.
  • Provide leadership in process improvements for payroll management and contribute to ongoing training for team members on payroll systems and procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing payroll functions within diverse industries using platforms such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos or UltiPro.
  • Strong understanding of payroll management principles combined with knowledge of accounting concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Proficiency in financial software like QuickBooks or similar tools; familiarity with HRIS systems is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of benefits administration processes and tax regulations affecting payroll operations.
  • Excellent analysis skills with keen attention to detail; capable of performing account reconciliation and data entry accurately under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments including human resources and finance teams.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality while maintaining high levels of accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Technical proficiency in using 10 key typing skills for efficient data processing; experience with Kronos or Ceridian is advantageous. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $71,814.95 - $100,000.00 per year
