Payroll Manager

Payroll Manager

This position is located in Denver, CO (Hybrid)


The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and performing relevant payroll functions, such as payroll processing in ADP, communication with various federal, state and local authorities, and timekeeping activities. Strong knowledge of payroll regulatory topics is required. This individual will also be responsible for identifying and implementing payroll procedure improvements.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and processing of bi-weekly payroll for growing multi-state company.
  • Identify and implement payroll process improvements as needed.
  • Maintain employee payroll records in ADP and Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
  • Manage payroll tax compliance issues including resolution of late and/or non-filings.
  • Serve as key liaison for all employee payroll requests and payroll inquiries.
  • Assist with 401(k) audit and workers’ compensation insurance audits.
  • Provide supporting data to accounting team for financial reporting purposes.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

  • 6+ years of relevant multi-state payroll experience.
  • 2+ years of management experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Federal, State and Local tax laws.
  • Experience with multi-jurisdictional payroll processing for 400+ employees.
  • Proficient in ADP or similar payroll management systems/software.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, Netsuite, etc.); Microsoft Business Central experience, a plus.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (v-lookup, pivot tables, formulas, etc.).
