Payroll Officer

Job Summary

The Payroll Officer is responsible for accurately preparing, processing, and managing the organization’s payroll in compliance with legal requirements and company policies. This role ensures timely salary payments, manages payroll records, and provides support on payroll-related queries while maintaining confidentiality and data accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including salaries, benefits, deductions, and leave balances.
  • Prepare and distribute payslips, ensuring timely delivery to employees.
  • Calculate and process overtime, bonuses, allowances, and other adjustments.
  • Ensure accurate deduction and remittance of statutory payments such as social security, taxes, and pension contributions.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts with the Finance department and resolve discrepancies.
  • Generate payroll reports for management and assist with budget and forecasting data.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and employee data.
  • Support HR in updating salary structures, benefits, and employee contracts when required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Officer, Payroll Administrator, or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, labor laws, and tax regulations.
  • Proficient in payroll software and MS Excel.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Working Conditions

  • Office-based role with standard working hours
