Permit Area Operator

Job responsibilities:

• Ensure all work in the area is conducted under valid and approved permits (Hot Work, Cold Work, Confined Space, etc.).
• Verify that job-specific risk assessments (JSA, HAZID, HAZOP) are completed and understood by workers.
• Monitor and control the activation and closure of permits.
• Maintain a log of all active permits in the area.
• Conduct routine inspections of the worksite to ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
• Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devices.
• Intervene in unsafe practices and report safety violations or incidents.
• Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Maintain accurate records of permits issued, work completed, and safety inspections.
• Report near misses, incidents, and non-conformances.
• Ensure documentation complies with internal procedures and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of oil and gas operations (upstream/downstream depending on location).
• Familiarity with PTW systems and Control of Work procedures.
• Understanding of HSE standards and practices. NEBOSH Certified.
• 4-5 years of experience. 2 years of experience with oil and gas project.
