Stable Hands Pet Care and Services is seeking dependable Care Team Members to provide professional dog walking and pet sitting services in Virginia Beach.

This role is a good fit for someone who is reliable, communicates clearly, works well independently, and understands that pets depend on us showing up as promised.

What We Are Looking For

Our Care Team Members should demonstrate:

• strong reliability and punctuality
• good time management and organization
• comfort working independently
• basic understanding of animal behavior and body language
• ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• comfort using smartphone apps for scheduling, visit reports, and communication
• prompt communication with the office team
• prior animal care experience preferred
• high school diploma or equivalent preferred

Requirements

Applicants must have:

• a valid driver’s license
• reliable personal transportation
• a smartphone with internet access
• the ability to travel to client homes throughout their service area

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

• traveling to client homes to provide pet care
• providing dog walks, yard time, playtime, and companionship
• cleaning food bowls, feeding areas, and litter boxes
• administering medications as instructed, including pills, liquid, topical medication, and sub-cutaneous injections; training provided
• completing visit reports using the company mobile app
• performing light home care tasks such as bringing in mail, taking trash bins to the curb or back in, and rotating lights

Scheduling Expectations

Pet care schedules are based on client needs and includes:

• morning visits: 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM
• midday visits: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• evening visits: 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM
• overnight pet sitting: 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with sleep time expected

We are currently hiring for both full-time and part-time positions. Hours and schedules vary based on client demand, availability, service area, and season.

Applicants can expect:

• weekday availability in one or more service windows
• regular weekend availability
• some holiday availability each year
• increased demand during peak travel seasons and major holidays

Reliability Requirement

Because pets depend on consistent care, reliability is essential. Care Team Members must maintain dependable transportation, communicate promptly, and arrive on time for all scheduled visits.

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
