Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately and ensure proper labeling, dosage, and administration instructions.
- Review and interpret prescriptions to ensure legality, appropriateness, and accuracy.
- Provide expert advice to doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on the selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects of medications.
- Monitor patients’ responses to medications and suggest necessary adjustments.
- Ensure the safe and secure storage of all pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain up-to-date records of prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances as per hospital and regulatory policies.
- Participate in ward rounds (if applicable) to offer real-time pharmacological advice.
- Train and supervise junior pharmacy staff, interns, or students.
- Stay updated with developments in pharmacological science and clinical guidelines.
- Assist in the development and implementation of hospital drug formularies and medication protocols.
- Adhere to infection control, health & safety standards, and best pharmacy practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm / Pharm.D / M.Pharm).
- Valid license to practice as a pharmacist [as per regional/country regulatory authority].
- Minimum [1–3] years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Knowledge of drug therapy principles, hospital formulary systems, and clinical pharmacy practices.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology and clinical therapeutics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy information systems and electronic medical records (EMR).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
