Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the hospital pharmacy and optical retail units.
- Ensure adherence to all statutory, legal, and hospital-specific policies.
- Maintain accurate records of drugs, consumables, and optical products.
- Inventory & Supply Chain
- Monitor stock levels and implement effective inventory control systems.
- Coordinate with vendors and distributors to ensure timely procurement of medicines and eye care products.
- Optimize purchase costs through negotiations and supplier performance tracking.
- Retail & Business Development
- Drive sales and profitability of the pharmacy & optical retail segment.
- Implement marketing and promotional strategies for pharmacy and retail units.
- Identify new product opportunities and partnerships to expand the product mix.
- Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and mentor pharmacists and retail staff.
- Set performance goals, conduct appraisals, and foster a culture of accountability and service excellence.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to NABH, FDA, and Drug Control regulations.
- Maintain proper documentation of drug receipts, expiry control, and temperature logs.
- Oversee periodic internal audits to ensure compliance and quality standards.
- Coordination with Clinical Teams
- Work closely with doctors and nursing teams to ensure availability of prescribed medicines.
- Support patient counseling on prescriptions and medication usage.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: B.Pharm or M.Pharm (Pharm.D preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 8–12 years of experience in retail pharmacy operations, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role (preferably in hospital or healthcare retail).
- Strong knowledge of drug laws, procurement processes, and vendor management.
- Experience in optical/OTC product retailing will be an advantage.
