CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
ROLE PURPOSE: The Philanthropy and Corporate Partnership Manager will focus on designing effective programs which leverage the unique resources and capabilities of the private sector to achieve sustainable development goals. The role holder, working with the Head of New Business Development (NBD), will be responsible for identifying and developing partnership opportunities with business and philanthropists in Egypt.
The Philanthropy and Partnership Corporates Manager is an exciting new role at Save the Children, where the role-holder will have the responsibility of advancing, with strategic thinking, the development of donor-partner relationships of Egypt-based corporates and high-net worth individuals. S/he will work closely with the Philanthropy Team and the Private/Transformational Partnerships Team at member offices to draft a private partnership engagement strategy, map and identify the most promising partners, develop creative and high-quality cultivation, drive new business, and steward high value relationships with an aspiration of securing five and six figure gifts.
The role holder should be someone who has experience in working with private sector/Corporate Social Responsibility in Egypt and who is passionate and excited about the growth of Egyptian philanthropy and in its power of effective change communities.
SCOPE OF ROLE
Reports to: Head of New Business Development
Staff directly reporting to this post: None.
Key relationships: Thematic Technical Advisors (MHPSS, Health, Education, Livelihood, Child Protection, Climate Resilience), MEAL, Operations, Finance, Member Offices, etc. as relevant and necessary to establish and execute a strong proposal development process.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Under the strategic guidance of the Country Director and direct supervision by Head of NBD, the Philanthropy and Corporate Partnership Manager will be responsible for the following areas of accountability:
Scoping and supporting the creation of new private and innovative partnerships (50%)
High-quality programme development for business and philanthropic partners (25%)
Concept and proposal development (25%)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
§ Minimum six years’ experience of soliciting six figure gifts from high-net-worth individuals or private sectors (or other transferable experience of securing new business in a commercial environment).
§ Proven experience in finding and cultivating new business opportunities with private sector, CSR, Foundations, commercial and developments banks.
§ Proven experience in working with development program beyond grants-based programs
§ Good knowledge of trends in Egypt philanthropy.
§ Understanding of Corporate, Social Responsibility (CSR) and Foundation priorities and ways of working in Egypt.
§ Solid Understanding of Result based financing and its funding mechanisms such as: Payment by outcomes, Impact Bonds, forgivable loans, impact linked loans, repayable grants, catalytic grants and performance-based contracts
§ Ability to build and managing relationships with high-level stakeholders, in the charity or private sector.
§ Ability to plan, prioritise and manage a varied and demanding workload to meet deadlines
§ Experience of working with emerging markets, preferably in Africa
§ Master’s degree in in development studies, international relations, business administration or related field required.
§ Solid experience in more than one of the Save the Children priority sectors: Education, Livelihoods, Child Protection, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, Child Rights Governance, in development and emergency settings.
§ Computer literacy: ability to undertake word processing and to access and update databases. Proficient in Microsoft Office
§ Fluent spoken and written in English
§ Fluent spoken and written in Arabic
§ Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
