Job Purpose
The MEP Planning Engineer will be responsible for independently managing planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting of MEP, ELV, and Fire & Life Safety works at site level. The role requires strong Primavera P6 expertise (mandatory) and the ability to work independently on Abu Dhabi projects, coordinating directly with project teams, consultants, and clients.
Key Responsibilities Planning & Scheduling (Primavera P6 – Mandatory)
- Develop, manage, and update detailed MEP project programs using Primavera P6.
- Prepare baseline schedules, WBS, activity logic, and resource loading.
- Integrate MEP schedules with civil and architectural programs.
- Prepare weekly, bi‑weekly, monthly, and detailed look‑ahead programs.
Site Progress Monitoring & Control
- Independently monitor daily, weekly, and monthly site progress against approved baselines.
- Track critical path activities and identify delays, constraints, and risks.
- Analyze planned vs actual productivity, manpower deployment, and material availability.
- Develop and implement recovery and mitigation plans when delays are identified.
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare and submit accurate weekly & monthly progress reports, S‑curves, and dashboards.
- Coordinate directly with Project Managers, Site Engineers, QA/QC, Procurement, and Subcontractors to collect real‑time site data.
- Attend site progress meetings and planning discussions with consultants and clients.
- Support project cash flow forecasting and milestone tracking.
Delay Analysis & Claims Support
- Perform schedule analysis and assist in the preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) and claims documentation.
- Maintain records of program revisions, approvals, and planning correspondence to support contractual requirements.
Material & Resource Planning
- Track procurement and delivery schedules of major MEP equipment and long‑lead items.
- Align manpower and resources with construction priorities and milestones.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5–10 years of proven experience as an MEP Planning Engineer.
- Primavera P6 expertise is MANDATORY
(Candidates without strong Primavera P6 experience will not be considered.)
- Abu Dhabi project experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work onsite and handle planning responsibilities independently without supervision.
- Strong understanding of MEP construction sequencing, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Experience working on high‑rise, commercial, data center, healthcare, or infrastructure projects in the UAE.
Technical & Software Skills
- Primavera P6 – Mandatory
- MS Project (added advantage)
- Advanced MS Excel (progress tracking, dashboards, reports)
- Basic AutoCAD knowledge for MEP coordination awareness
