Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Planning Engineer to lead project scheduling, progress monitoring, and delay analysis across major construction projects.

The successful candidate will manage complex resource-loaded schedules, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior planners, and support project delivery from tender stage through execution.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop, validate, and maintain detailed baseline project schedules
  • Integrate design, procurement, and construction activities into master schedules
  • Align schedules with contractual milestones and execution strategy
  • Prepare S-curves, histograms, look-ahead programs, and cash-flow forecasts

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track progress against baseline and analyse schedule deviations
  • Prepare executive progress reports and dashboards
  • Validate site progress through inspections and data verification
  • Support project performance forecasting and recovery plans

Delay Analysis & Claims

  • Perform delay analysis and support Extension of Time (EOT) claims
  • Maintain documentation aligned with contract provisions
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies

Coordination & Leadership

  • Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Review subcontractor schedules and integrate into master plan
  • Mentor and guide junior planning engineers
  • Provide planning input during tender and execution stages

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with contractual and company planning standards
  • Participate in planning audits and technical reviews

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in construction planning & project controls, at least 5 years’ experience in Fit out experience
  • Experience in large-scale infrastructure, commercial, or industrial projects
  • Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 / MS Project or similar scheduling software
  • Experience in delay analysis and claims (EOT)
  • Strong Construction Knowledge and overall progress awareness
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects

Preferred

  • GCC / Qatar experience
  • Experience managing integrated master schedules
  • Knowledge of construction contracts and project controls practices
  • Arabic Nationality

Working Conditions

  • Office & site-based role
  • Regular site inspections required
  • Extended hours during critical project phases
