Planning Engineer – High-Rise Building Project

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Planning Engineer with strong experience in high-rise building projects to develop, monitor, and control project schedules. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the project is completed on time by tracking progress, identifying delays, and implementing corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning

• Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Prepare baseline programs, work breakdown structures (WBS), and resource plans.
• Define project timelines, milestones, and critical paths.

Progress Monitoring

• Track and update weekly and monthly progress against the baseline schedule.
• Monitor actual progress on site and identify deviations or delays.
• Conduct critical path analysis and recommend corrective actions.

Reporting

• Prepare and submit:
• Weekly progress reports
• Monthly progress reports
• Look-ahead schedules (2-week / 3-week)
• Provide progress dashboards and updates to management and clients.

Coordination

• Coordinate with Project Manager, Construction Manager, and site teams.
• Liaise with subcontractors to ensure alignment with project timelines.
• Ensure all activities are properly sequenced and coordinated.

Delay Analysis & Claims

• Perform delay analysis (EOT claims) and assess impact on project schedule.
• Prepare supporting documents for extension of time claims.
• Evaluate changes and variations affecting project timelines.

Resource & Cost Planning

• Assist in resource allocation and manpower planning.
• Monitor productivity rates and suggest improvements.
• Support cost control by aligning schedule with budget planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in planning and scheduling.
• Proven experience in high-rise building projects in UAE/GCC.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in:
• Primavera P6
• MS Project
• MS Excel (advanced level)
• Good understanding of:
• Construction sequences and methodologies
• Delay analysis techniques (EOT, claims)
• Resource loading and leveling

Preferred Requirements

• UAE driving license
• Experience working with main contractors or consultants
• Familiarity with UAE project standards and reporting requirements
