Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Planning Engineer (Fit-Out & Joinery) to support the successful execution of our projects. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules, ensuring optimal resource utilization and on-time project delivery. Your expertise in planning tools, methodologies, and delay analysis will be essential in driving project performance and mitigating risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar planning software.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines.
- Establish realistic project milestones, critical paths, and activity sequencing.
- Monitor project progress against baseline schedules and analyze any variances.
- Prepare and present periodic progress reports highlighting achievements, risks, delays, and recommended corrective actions.
- Update schedules to reflect actual progress, variations, and changes in scope or resources.
- Identify potential scheduling risks and constraints and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Analyze resource allocation to ensure optimum utilization and prevent delays or bottlenecks.
- Participate in project meetings to review progress, address issues, and propose solutions.
- Maintain accurate planning and scheduling documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the preparation of Earned Value Management (EVM) reports and KPIs.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning processes and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders on schedule updates and project status.
- Conduct site visits when required to verify progress and assess on-ground constraints.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling within the fit-out and joinery industry.
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 (essential).
- Solid understanding of planning techniques such as CPM (Critical Path Method) and PERT.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- UAE driving license is preferred.
