Planning Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Planning Engineer (Fit-Out & Joinery) to support the successful execution of our projects. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules, ensuring optimal resource utilization and on-time project delivery. Your expertise in planning tools, methodologies, and delay analysis will be essential in driving project performance and mitigating risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar planning software.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Establish realistic project milestones, critical paths, and activity sequencing.
  • Monitor project progress against baseline schedules and analyze any variances.
  • Prepare and present periodic progress reports highlighting achievements, risks, delays, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Update schedules to reflect actual progress, variations, and changes in scope or resources.
  • Identify potential scheduling risks and constraints and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze resource allocation to ensure optimum utilization and prevent delays or bottlenecks.
  • Participate in project meetings to review progress, address issues, and propose solutions.
  • Maintain accurate planning and scheduling documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the preparation of Earned Value Management (EVM) reports and KPIs.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning processes and best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders on schedule updates and project status.
  • Conduct site visits when required to verify progress and assess on-ground constraints.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling within the fit-out and joinery industry.
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 (essential).
  • Solid understanding of planning techniques such as CPM (Critical Path Method) and PERT.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • UAE driving license is preferred.
