Planning Manager

The Role
Our Tier 1 Main Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced Planning Manager to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on high profile large villa masterplan developments and/or high rise tower projects in the Emirates. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Planning Manager on large scale civil construction projects in the UAE and have worked in the capacity of Planning Manager for a recognised main contracting company previously. This role is available for immediate joining and is hiring on a temporary to permanent basis as an initial 6 month contract position, outsourced through J10 Consulting, with the option to transfer to staff after 6 months to suit all parties. Key Responsibilities: • Minimum 3 years of experience in the pet retail industry. • Proven retail or sales experience (mandatory). • Strong passion for pets and willingness to continuously learn about pet care. • Excellent communication and customer service skills. • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays. • Key Demographic Requirement • Applicants must be based in the UAE. Lead and manage planning teams to deliver accurate and realistic project schedules in Primavera P6 • Coordinate closely with project managers, consultants, and site teams to ensure execution aligns with baseline programs • Perform delay analysis, prepare recovery schedules, and lead EOT claim preparation • Oversee preparation of progress reports, histograms, S-curves, and project dashboards for senior management review • Ensure all planning activities comply with contractual obligations and company procedures • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations. • Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure technical requirements are accurately captured. • Oversee the execution of large scale civil construction projects from inception to completion. • Evaluate project performance, identifying and mitigating potential risks promptly. • Collaborate with finance teams to manage project budgets and optimize resource use. • Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals. • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders. • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies in all projects. • Implement and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency. • Conduct regular meetings with project stakeholders to evaluate progress and address issues. • Identify and establish relationships with external partners to support project objectives

Requirements
Planning Manager Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project planning and execution with at least 3 years in large scale villa or high rise tower projects • Proven track record of managing large-scale civil construction projects successfully. • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools like Primavera or MS Project. • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management. • Proficiency in risk management and contingency planning for complex projects. • Ability to think strategically and solve complex project-related challenges. • Experience with financial and budgetary management specific to large projects.
