Position Summary

The Plant Engineer (Cold Production) is responsible for leading and managing all cold-end production operations, including sheet cutting, CNC cutting, boards production, special-size cutting, and related quality control activities. The role ensures cost-efficient operations, high-quality output, optimized cutting yield, and smooth coordination with Hot Production to maintain continuous production flow.

Key Responsibilities

A. Production Operations Management

· Lead, supervise, and manage the daily cold production operations, including shop drawings, take-offs, estimation, optimized cutting plans, sheets cutting, CNC cutting, and special-size cutting.

· Ensure production targets, deadlines, and customer delivery requirements are met.

· Maintain strict adherence to safety, housekeeping, and operational standards.

B. Cost Reduction & Efficiency Improvement

· Plan project production costs and ensure adherence to approved budgets.

· Reduce operational and labor costs by optimizing production hours and eliminating unnecessary overtime.

· Continuously monitor EPS block density, dimensions, and quality.

· Coordinate with the Hot Production Engineer to maintain adequate stock of dry, high-quality blocks.

· Optimize block cutting layouts to minimize material waste and enhance block utilization.

· Apply size clubbing, balanced mass cutting, and dead-piece utilization prior to cutting new blocks.

· Provide continuous technical training to operators ensuring multi-skill capability.

C. Quality Assurance

· Ensure all finished sheets, boards, CNC profiles, and special products meet company quality standards.

· Implement quality control checks at every stage of the cold production process.

· Investigate non-conformities, implement corrective actions, and maintain documentation.

D. Customer & Internal Support

· Assist the Line Manager in handling customer requirements and technical requests.

· Provide technical support for new and existing products.

· Support sales, planning, maintenance, and warehouse teams in all technical matters.

  • Skills & Competencies Required

· Strong technical knowledge of fabrication processes.

· Ability to read shop drawings and design optimized cutting plans.

· Strong analytical and cost-optimization mindset.

· Knowledge of CNC cutting machines, sheet-cutting lines, and EPS block characteristics.

· Excellent leadership, team-management, and communication skills.

· Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

· Capability to train and develop machine operators.

  • Qualifications & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.

· 3–5 years of experience in fabrication workshop

· Experience in CNC operations, planning, cutting optimization, and quality assurance.

· Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts is an advantage.
