Plant Manager / Operations Manager – Aluminium ROPP Closures | Metal Packaging Manufacturing

Company Overview

We are an established and growing manufacturer of aluminium ROPP closures supplying the beverage, food and pharmaceutical industries in Pakistan and international export markets. Our factory operates high-speed production lines including aluminium presses, lining machines, inspection systems, and automated packing lines.

To strengthen our operations and support future growth, we are seeking a highly experienced Plant Manager / Operations Manager to lead factory operations and ensure world-class manufacturing performance.

Position Summary

The Plant Manager / Operations Manager will have full responsibility for end-to-end factory operations, including production, quality, maintenance, safety, and people management.

This role requires a hands-on leader with deep technical knowledge of aluminium ROPP closure manufacturing, strong leadership skills, and experience managing large production teams in Pakistan.

Production & Operations Management

• Manage daily production of aluminium ROPP caps / closures
• Oversee operations including production planning, shift scheduling, and output control
• Ensure optimal utilization of presses, lining machines, knurling, rolling, inspection, and packing lines
• Achieve production KPIs: efficiency, output, scrap reduction, and downtime control

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, HACCP, GMP, and food-grade packaging standards
• Maintain consistent product quality for still water, sparkling water, spirits, and edible oils
• Lead customer audits, internal audits, and corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)
• Ensure compliance with local and export quality requirements

Maintenance & Engineering

• Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs
• Reduce breakdowns and improve machine reliability
• Support installation and commissioning of new machinery
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and automation teams

People & Workforce Management

• Lead production supervisors, engineers, quality staff, and operators
• Recruit, train, and develop factory staff
• Manage shift teams and labor discipline
• Promote safety, accountability, and continuous improvement culture

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Enforce workplace safety standards and procedures
• Ensure compliance with Pakistani labor and safety regulations
• Reduce accidents and promote safe working practices

Supply Chain & Inventory

• Coordinate raw material availability (aluminium coils/sheets, liners, cartons)
• Control WIP and finished goods inventory
• Support dispatch planning and export coordination

Cost Control & Reporting

• Control operational costs including labor, energy, consumables, and scrap
• Prepare operational reports for senior management
• Support budgeting and cost analysis for pricing and profitability

Continuous Improvement

• Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and process optimization
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce waste
• Implement best practices in metal packaging manufacturing

Required Qualifications & ExperienceEducation

• Bachelor’s degree
• MBA or management qualification is a strong advantage

Experience

• 8–15 years experience in manufacturing
• Minimum 5 years in a senior role such as Plant Manager / Operations Manager / Factory Head
• Mandatory experience in aluminium ROPP closures, metal caps, or metal packaging
• Experience managing large production teams in Pakistan
• Exposure to export-oriented manufacturing preferred
