Postdoctoral Associate

Summary

Baylor college of Medicine Neurocritical care section of the department of neurology is hiring a post-doctoral fellow to support research related to neuromonitoring and imaging. The ideal candidate should have an MD (or equivalent) or a PhD related to human physiology. Postdoctoral research fellows are trainees working in an apprenticeship mode in preparation for a career as a scientific/medical professional.

Job Duties

• The candidate should also demonstrate experience or willingness to learn the following skills:
  • Ultrasound imaging
  • Transcranial doppler
  • Recording and analyzing biological data using powerlab, Moberg, ICM+, or similar software and hardware.
  • Database development and management using Redcap or similar software.
  • Statistical analysis 6. Institutional review board applications
  • Scientific writing including grant development and manuscript writing
• Plans, diirects and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
• Evaluates and analyzes data.
• Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
• Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
• Maintains laboratory operations.
• Supervises research staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
• No experience required.
