PRINCIPAL BUSINESS DEVELOPER

Primary Purpose of the Job:

As a Principal Business Developer, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and negotiating new business opportunities across the oil and gas value chain. You will support strategic initiatives including mergers & acquisitions (M&A), divestments, and commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with QatarEnergy’s long-term goals and safeguarding the interests of the State of Qatar.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on long- and mid-term strategies for upstream and downstream operations (LNG, GTL, etc.).
• Identify and evaluate global business opportunities, partnerships, and ventures.
• Support M&A and divestment activities, including structuring and negotiation of deals.
• Review and assess proposals from international oil companies (IOCs), national oil companies (NOCs), and partners.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements (EPSA, DPSA, DFA, JVA, HoA, MoU).
• Develop resources and insights across the oil & gas value chain.
• Contribute to budget preparation and business planning.
• Represent QatarEnergy in international forums and committees.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Minimum 12 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 7 years in business development, M&A, and negotiations.
• Proven expertise in upstream or downstream operations, market analysis, and financial evaluations.
• Strong negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
• High integrity, independence, and multicultural team spirit.

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Petroleum or Chemical), Economics, or Finance. MBA is a plus.
