About the Family

A loving family in Lakeland, FL is seeking a part-time nanny with medical experience to support their household as they prepare to bring their NICU baby home. The ideal caregiver will have a nursing, medical, or healthcare background and feel confident providing attentive care to an infant who may require additional monitoring and support.

In addition to caring for the newborn, the nanny will also help care for the family’s toddler-aged child. The family values a nurturing, attentive caregiver who enjoys engaging children in developmentally appropriate play and activities rather than relying on screen time.

They are looking for someone calm, knowledgeable, and proactive who can create a safe and supportive environment for both children while helping encourage healthy development and routines.

Start Date & Schedule

Location: Lakeland, FL
Start Date: As soon as possible (flexible to ensure the right fit)

Schedule:

  • 2–3 days per week
  • 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Looking for a long term relationship

Specific days may be discussed with the family during the interview process.

Responsibilities

  • Providing attentive care for a newborn recently discharged from the NICU
  • Supporting the daily care and development of a toddler-aged child
  • Monitoring the infant’s well-being and following any medical guidance provided by the parents
  • Engaging both children in screen-free, developmentally appropriate activities
  • Encouraging developmental milestones through play, reading, and interaction
  • Maintaining a calm, nurturing environment for the children
  • Light tidying related to the children’s activities and care
  • Providing additional household support as time allows, such as helping keep children’s areas organized or assisting with small tasks related to the children

What They’re Looking For

Medical or Nursing Background Required – Experience in healthcare, nursing, or a related medical field is required.

Infant Care Knowledge – Comfortable caring for a newborn who has spent time in the NICU and following detailed care instructions.

Engaging & Development-Focused – Enjoys interactive play, reading, and activities that support developmental milestones.

Calm & Attentive – Able to remain observant, patient, and responsive to the needs of both children.

Professional & Reliable – Communicates clearly with parents and respects household routines and expectations.

Compensation

$20 – $25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
