Position Overview: Purchasing Analyst
A growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Purchasing Analyst to join its Procurement team. This role plays a key part in supporting purchasing operations, ensuring the timely procurement of goods and materials necessary for business continuity and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis
- Analyze historical procurement and sales data to identify trends by item, customer, and vendor.
- Prepare and present insights through daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
Vendor Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor and sourcing information.
- Communicate regularly with key suppliers to foster strong and reliable relationships.
Inventory Item Master Management
- Manage product setup and updates within the inventory system.
- Create and maintain bills of materials for production and assembled goods.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Creative, Sales, and Marketing to launch new products.
- Support decision-making for product lifecycle management, including end-of-life reviews.
- Recommend appropriate minimum order quantities and stock levels.
Inventory Purchase Reviews
- Conduct regular reviews of stock requirements and purchasing needs.
- Develop a thorough understanding of company products and inventory flow.
- Identify and resolve backorder issues through improved purchasing strategies.
Open Purchase Order Tracking
- Monitor and manage open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Work with suppliers to identify opportunities to reduce production lead times.
Work Order Initiation
- Generate work orders to maintain adequate inventory of assembled items.
- Ensure sufficient raw material availability to support assembly operations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Uphold strong internal controls to protect company assets and maintain financial integrity.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at improving procurement systems and workflows.
- Collaborate across departments to align procurement strategies with broader business goals.
Qualifications
Education
- Post-secondary education in database management, computer science, or a related field preferred.
Skills & Experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; pivot tables and data linking experience required.
- Experience with SQL or other database query tools preferred.
- High level of understanding of ERP systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
