Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Procurement Engineer to support EPIC (Engineering,
Procurement, Installation, and Commissioning) projects within the company’s Marine
& Technical Services Division at the Shipyard. The role involves reviewing
engineering drawings and project documentation, preparing procurement datasheets,
and ensuring the efficient sourcing of materials and equipment in compliance with
project specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate will work closely with
project engineers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to optimize cost, quality, and
delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Engineering & Documentation Review
Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical
documents to define procurement requirements.
Collaborate with project engineers to prepare technical datasheets and material
requisitions.
Ensure all materials and equipment comply with project specifications, industry
standards, and regulatory requirements.
2. Procurement Planning & Sourcing
Identify and prequalify vendors based on technical and commercial evaluations.
Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and Purchase Orders
(POs) in coordination with the procurement team.
Ensure cost-effective and timely procurement while maintaining quality and
compliance.
Participate in vendor selection, evaluation, and negotiation processes when
required.
3. Logistics & Material Management
Monitor procurement schedules and maintain accurate documentation to support
project execution.
Coordinate inspection and quality verification of materials in line with QA/QC
standards.
Support logistics coordination to ensure timely delivery and material availability
at the shipyard.
4. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and contractual
obligations.
Maintain comprehensive procurement records, including POs, delivery notes,
inspection reports, and supplier documentation.
Assist in procurement audits and compliance reviews as required.
Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by management.
Key Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil
Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience: 4–6 years of procurement experience in EPIC projects, preferably
within oil & gas, construction, or industrial sectors.
Certifications: Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management
(e.g., CIPS) is an advantage.
Systems: Proficient in MS Office and Oracle ERP applications.
Languages: Fluent in English (written and spoken); Arabic is an advantage.
Location: Based at Milaha Shipyard (6-day work week).
Preferred Skills
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications,
and industry standards (API, ASME, ISO, etc.).
Proven experience in vendor evaluation, supplier negotiations, and
procurement planning.
Excellent communication, coordination, and project management skills.
Knowledge of international procurement standards and supply chain
logistics.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict project deadlines.
