About the Role – Procurement Engineer (Civil)

The Procurement Engineer – Civil is responsible for managing the procurement of civil construction materials and services across projects. This role requires strong technical understanding of civil works, excellent vendor management capabilities, and the ability to align procurement activities with project timelines and budgets.

You will work closely with project teams, consultants, and suppliers to ensure seamless sourcing, ordering, and delivery of materials while maintaining quality standards and cost control.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end procurement of civil construction materials and subcontracted services
  • Source and procure materials including concrete, steel, formwork, blocks, waterproofing, finishes, and related civil materials
  • Review BOQs, drawings, specifications, and material requirements prior to procurement
  • Prepare and process Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) in line with approved budgets
  • Float RFQs, evaluate technical and commercial bids, and negotiate pricing and delivery terms
  • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, QS, and consultants to align procurement with construction schedules
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard approved vendors and suppliers
  • Track order status, deliveries, and material handover to site
  • Ensure materials meet quality standards, specifications, and approved submittals
  • Monitor procurement costs and support budget control and value engineering initiatives
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation, reports, and records
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and audit requirements


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5–10+ years of experience in civil procurement within construction or real estate development companies
  • Experience handling large-scale construction projects in the GCC is preferred


Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of civil construction materials and procurement processes
  • Ability to interpret BOQs, drawings, and technical specifications
  • Excellent vendor sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management skills
  • Familiarity with ERP / procurement systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Tally, or similar)
  • Strong coordination, follow-up, and stakeholder communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on cost control and quality compliance
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
