Procurement Manager (IT Industry)

Location: Karachi.

Education: Bachelors or Masters

Experience: 6+ years of experience in procurement only in the telecommunications or IT services sector.

JOB DESCRIPTION & SPECIFICATION:

· Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management: Identify and vet suppliers of security hardware (CCTV, IP cameras, access control, alarms). Build relationships with manufacturers and distributors to secure favorable pricing, warranties, and lead times.

  • RFP Management: Develop, manage, and evaluate Request for Proposals (RFPs) for large-scale security projects.
  • Cost Control: Analyze costs, track market fluctuations, and execute strategies to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Contract Negotiation: Draft and negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and maintenance agreements with vendors.
  • Inventory & Logistics: Monitor inventory levels of security equipment to prevent stockouts while ensuring high turnover, coordinating with technical teams.
  • Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure all purchased hardware complies with industry standards and regulations (e.g., NDAA compliance in security). Mitigate supply chain risks, such as logistics delays or shortages, by diversifying vendors.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with sales, technical, and project management teams to understand project requirements and technical specifications.
  • Technology Utilization: Utilize ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) to track purchases, manage vendor data, and generate reports.

Required Skills:

  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of security surveillance technologies (IP video, access control, cybersecurity components).
  • Skills: Strong negotiation skills, proficiency in Excel and ERP software, and advanced data analysis capabilities.
