Procurement Officer

Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage project-based procurement activities for our construction operations. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in sourcing construction materials, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring timely delivery in line with project schedules and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and procure construction materials, equipment, and services as per project requirements
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, prepare comparison sheets, and issue purchase orders (LPOs)
• Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and payment conditions with local and international suppliers
• Coordinate closely with project managers, site engineers, and warehouse teams to ensure material availability
• Monitor inventory levels and track incoming deliveries
• Maintain supplier database and ensure updated records of purchase documents and contracts
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
• Handle procurement of subcontracted works, if required
• Assist in vendor evaluation and performance reviews

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 4 years of UAE experience in procurement within a construction or contracting company
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment
• Proficient in MS Office and procurement software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, ERP systems)
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Familiarity with UAE market suppliers and customs/import regulations is a plus
