Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure the best prices and quality. Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuous supply and favorable terms.
- Conduct regular market research to stay updated on material trends and pricing.
- Process purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services in accordance with project requirements.
- Ensure all purchases are made within budget and adhere to project timelines.
- Monitor the status of orders and ensure on-time delivery of materials and services.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and manage stock to prevent over-ordering or shortages.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and handling of materials.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Inspect materials upon delivery to ensure they meet the required specifications and standards.
- Handle and resolve any issues related to damaged or non-compliant materials.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to procurement activities.
- Work closely with the design and project management teams to understand material requirements and project timelines.
- Provide input on cost estimates and project feasibility based on material availability and pricing.
- Collaborate with the finance department to ensure timely payments to suppliers and resolve any billing issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in procurement, preferably in interior design, construction, or related industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with procurement software is a plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of materials, finishes, and furnishings used in interior design and construction.
