Procurement Officer

Karachi, Pakistan

Umar Textiles is a leading name in Pakistan’s textile industry, recognized for our commitment to quality, innovation, and excellence in home and institutional textiles. We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Purchaser to manage procurement activities, ensure cost efficiency, and build strong vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage the purchasing of raw materials, accessories, spare parts, and consumables for textile operations.

· Compare and analyze vendor rates, negotiate terms, and ensure cost savings for the company.

· Maintain updated records of market prices and past purchases to track rate differences and percentage changes month-to-month.

· Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery timelines, and pricing.

· Develop and maintain relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers.

· Ensure timely availability of required items for looms, finishing, cutting sections, and the spinning unit.

· Coordinate with internal departments to understand requirements and manage purchase requests.

· Prepare and maintain purchasing reports, price comparison sheets, and vendor databases.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.

· 5–7 years of purchasing/procurement experience in the textile industry (must).

· Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.

· Must have good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

· Ability to analyze data and maintain purchasing records accurately.

· Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in solving procurement issues
