Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and resourceful Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing, coordination, and logistics of fresh flower supplies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in procurement, with in-depth knowledge of flower markets, supplier relationships, and inventory management. This role is pivotal in maintaining consistent stock levels, optimizing costs, and ensuring timely delivery to meet business demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Management:
- Source and procure fresh flowers from both local and international suppliers, prioritizing quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to ensure competitive advantage.
- Supplier & Market Expertise:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of flower markets, supplier networks, and seasonal trends to support strategic sourcing decisions.
- Identify and onboard new vendors while maintaining strong relationships with existing partners.
- Inventory & Stock Control:
- Monitor stock levels regularly to forecast demand and place orders when inventory reaches minimal thresholds.
- Collaborate with operations teams to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
- Vendor Coordination:
- Coordinate with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure prompt delivery and resolve any delivery delays or discrepancies.
- Track shipments and verify compliance with agreed-upon quality standards.
- Procurement Documentation:
- Maintain accurate procurement records, purchase orders, and vendor contracts.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and inventory turnover.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5–7 years in procurement, preferably in the floral industry or related sectors.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of fresh flower supply chains, including local and international supplier networks.
- Skills:
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- Proficient in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Soft Skills: Communication, time management, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
