Procurement Officer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Officer with core Civil contracting experience to manage sourcing, purchasing, and subcontracting activities for construction projects. The role requires strong market knowledge, vendor management skills, and hands-on experience in civil materials, machinery rentals, and subcontract works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities for civil construction projects.
  • Source and procure civil materials and consumables in line with project requirements and budgets.
  • Handle machinery and equipment rentals, including negotiation of rates and rental terms.
  • Coordinate procurement related to scaffolding systems and associated services.
  • Manage sourcing and engagement of surveyors and related professional services.
  • Support procurement and coordination of subcontracting works, including, Blockwork, Painting, Plastering, Tiling, Other civil finishing works
  • Prepare and evaluate RFQs, quotations, comparative statements, and recommendations.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain approved vendor and subcontractor databases.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet project schedules.
  • Coordinate with project, site, and finance teams to ensure procurement alignment.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve procurement-related issues.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of procurement experience in a civil contracting company (mandatory).
  • Good understanding of construction drawings and BOQs.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project timelines.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/procurement systems.
  • Knowledge of UAE construction market and suppliers is essential.
