Procurement Officer

Job Summary

The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, subcontractors, and services required for contracting, fit-out, and joinery projects. The role ensures timely procurement, cost control, quality compliance, and adherence to project schedules and company policies.

Key Responsibilities Procurement & Purchasing

  • Source and procure materials for fit-out, joinery, MEP, and civil works (wood, MDF, veneer, hardware, fittings, finishes, glass, metal, accessories, etc.).
  • Prepare and issue RFQs, RFIs, and Purchase Orders (POs).
  • Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure materials are delivered on time and as per project requirements.

Supplier & Subcontractor Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and maintain approved suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Conduct price comparisons and technical compliance reviews.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local and international vendors.

Cost Control & Documentation

  • Ensure procurement aligns with approved budgets and BOQs.
  • Monitor material consumption and prevent wastage.
  • Maintain accurate records of POs, delivery notes, invoices, and contracts.
  • Coordinate with Accounts for invoice verification and payments.

Coordination & Project Support

  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, QS, and Site Teams.
  • Track procurement schedules to support project timelines.
  • Resolve supply issues, shortages, or delays proactively.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • 1–4years experience in procurement within contracting / fit-out / joinery companies.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and finishes.
  • Experience in UAE market is Mandatory.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Knowledge of BOQs, drawings, and material specifications
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
