Position Overview

Responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing supplier relationships to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective delivery of parts and services. Supports quoting, purchasing, order tracking, problem resolution, and data accuracy across the supply chain process.

Supplier Sourcing & Management

  • Source and vet suppliers for machining, painting, valves, and other outsourced services.
  • Coordinate with accounting to set up new vendors after due diligence.
  • Schedule vendor meetings for critical orders or issues.
  • Ensure vendors have required components, drawings, and technical data.

Quoting & Purchasing Support

  • Solicit and compare quotes, considering price, lead time, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineering to confirm accurate specifications.
  • Assist with purchase orders and expedite non-stock items, tooling, and supplies.

Order Follow-up & Communication

  • Review confirmations, enter delivery dates, and follow up on lead times.
  • Resolve delays and provide proactive status updates to internal teams.

Problem Resolution

  • Manage returns, credits, and replacements for damaged or incorrect items.
  • Resolve pricing discrepancies and receiving errors with vendors.

Inventory & Reporting

  • Generate inventory and customer status reports using ERP (D365), DOMO, and Excel.
  • Support special purchasing or inventory projects.

Data Accuracy & Process Improvement

  • Review and approve new part data, maintaining database integrity.
  • Identify errors, recommend improvements, and implement solutions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of relevant purchasing/supply chain experience (or equivalent).

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Experience with MRP/ERP software; a good understanding of Materials Planning and Purchasing modules; and proficiency in Excel.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
