About the Role of Procurement Specialist:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing goods and services required for the organization to operate effectively. This role ensures that the company secures the best value in terms of cost, quality, and reliability from vendors and suppliers, while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for managing vendor relationships by identifying, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and reliable partnerships. You will oversee the purchasing process, including preparing and processing purchase orders for equipment, materials, and services, while maintaining optimal inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess. Your role will involve analyzing market trends to uncover cost-saving opportunities and supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts for procurement activities. You will also draft, review, and manage procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards. A strong focus on compliance and risk management is essential, as you will enforce procurement policies and assess supplier risks to minimize supply chain disruptions. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with internal departments such as operations, finance, and legal to address purchasing needs and resolve procurement-related issues. This role will maintain procurement records and generate reports on spending, cost savings, and supplier performance.
