We are seeking a skilled and experienced Purchaser to manage procurement operations for our joinery and woodworking division. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of wood species, joinery materials, hardware, and associated supplies, with a proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is essential in ensuring the timely procurement of high-quality materials at competitive prices.
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years’ procurement experience within a joinery or interior fit-out company in the UAE and be well-versed in dealing with local suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procure joinery materials such as timber, veneers, MDF, plywood, hardware, fittings, and finishing materials
- Source, assess, and maintain strong working relationships with approved and new suppliers
- Negotiate costs, delivery timelines, and payment terms to maximize value and efficiency
- Identify new vendors, raise purchase orders, and track deliveries to ensure timely material availability
- Collaborate with production teams to forecast material requirements and avoid shortages or overstocking
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation and prepare reports on pricing, quality, and supplier performance
- Ensure all procured materials comply with company quality standards and technical specifications
- Handle end-to-end procurement activities for joinery and fit-out projects
- Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services
- Prepare RFQs, evaluate quotations, issue purchase orders, and track deliveries
- Strong understanding of joinery and fit-out materials such as wood, boards, hardware, finishes, accessories, and MEP-related items
- Coordinate with factory, site, project, and store teams to ensure timely material availability
- Monitor material costs, supplier performance, and delivery schedules
- Maintain updated supplier databases and procurement records
- Ensure cost control and budget compliance across projects
Requirements & Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years UAE experience in joinery and interior fit-out only (mandatory)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procurement processes
- Experience with accounting software and advanced MS Excel
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
