Scope of Work

Position: Producer – Long Documentaries

Department: Content Production

Reporting to: Project Manager

Role Overview:

The Producer will be responsible for the overall development, direction, and production of long-format documentaries for the channel. This includes leading creative vision, supervising content, acting as the lead producer on location, and ensuring all logistical and legal aspects of the production are properly managed. The role also involves conducting interviews with featured characters and guests, and acting as the central point of communication between departments throughout the production lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Creative Direction & Content Supervision

● Lead the creative vision for long-form documentaries, ensuring content aligns with the channel’s strategy and brand voice.

● Supervise the development of narratives, scripts, and storylines.

● Review and approve scripts and final edits.

● Ensure factual accuracy, emotional depth, and editorial integrity in all content.

2. On-Ground Production Management

● Attend all major shoot days to supervise production execution.

● Act as the on-site senior producer, providing real-time creative and production decisions.

● Serve as the primary interviewer for characters and on-camera guests.

● Ensure the production team adheres to the shooting script and schedule.

3. Scheduling & Planning

● Prepare detailed production timelines and shooting schedules.

● Coordinate pre-production meetings, location recces, and production planning sessions.

● Ensure efficient time management on set and across the production workflow.

4. Permits & Approvals

● Identify all required permits and ensure they are secured in advance of shooting.

5. Cross-Departmental Coordination

● Maintain strong communication with heads of departments, including content, production, and design.

● Provide updates, production notes, and reports to the project manager.

6. Team Supervision & Leadership

● Guide and mentor junior producers, production assistants, and freelance crew.

● Delegate tasks effectively and oversee post-production workflows.

● Ensure a collaborative, respectful, and creative working environment.
