Job Summary
The Product Development & Sourcing Executive will play a key role in translating design concepts into commercially viable, high-quality products. This role requires a strong understanding of textile and apparel product development, sourcing processes, and cost optimization. Working closely with the design team and PD & S Manager, the Executive will ensure timely development, quality compliance, and effective supplier collaboration to support GMG’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development & Execution

Support the product development lifecycle by translating design inputs into actionable product briefs and tech packs.

Collaborate with the design and sourcing teams to develop products that meet aesthetic, functional, and quality standards.

Ensure timely development of product samples while maintaining alignment with seasonal calendars.

Manage and organize the sample library, development records, and technical documentation.
Sourcing & Cost Optimization

Coordinate with suppliers, factories, and buying offices to source materials and finished products that meet design, cost, and lead-time targets.

Validate and negotiate product costs with a focus on achieving cost efficiency without compromising quality.

Track and manage supplier performance, ensuring adherence to quality, timeline, and compliance expectations.
Fabric, Quality & Compliance Coordination

Leverage technical knowledge in fabrics, printing, dyeing, and apparel manufacturing to guide sourcing decisions.

Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and regulatory requirements across markets.

Coordinate with Quality teams to resolve development issues and finalize production-ready specifications.
Cross-functional Collaboration

Work closely with cross-functional teams including Design, Quality, and Merchandising to ensure product alignment and timely execution.

Contribute to assortment planning and stock readiness in collaboration with planning and buying teams.

Provide technical support and guidance to ensure product feasibility and regional market relevance.
Process Optimization & Reporting

Identify opportunities to improve product development workflows, sourcing efficiency, and vendor management practices.

Support the creation of reports and presentations on product status, cost analysis, and sourcing insights using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Skills & Qualifications
Education:
-
Graduate degree, diploma, or technical education in textile design, apparel production, or a related product development field.
Experience:
-
Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development or sourcing.

At least 2 recent years of hands-on experience working in a factory, liaison office, buying agency, or the product development division of a retailer.
Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of textile and apparel product development processes.

Familiarity with fabrics, printing, dyeing techniques, and manufacturing workflows.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for tracking, reporting, and cost validation.

Practical experience working with tech packs and translating design concepts into technical specifications.

Understanding of global supply chain dynamics and regulatory requirements.
