The Production Assistant provides direct support to the Production Manager in planning, coordinating, and monitoring day-to-day manufacturing operations. This role is instrumental in ensuring smooth workflow execution, timely production output, and adherence to quality and efficiency standards.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining clear communication across departments.
Key Responsibilities
Production Coordination
- Assist in planning and scheduling daily production activities
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely execution of work orders
- Monitor production progress and report deviations or delays
- Help ensure optimal utilization of manpower, materials, and machinery
Operational Support
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Production Manager
- Maintain production records, reports, and documentation
- Track production targets and actual output
- Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly production reports
Inventory & Material Management
- Coordinate with stores and procurement for timely availability of raw materials
- Monitor material usage and report shortages or wastage
- Assist in maintaining inventory records related to production
Quality & Compliance
- Support implementation of quality control procedures
- Ensure adherence to production standards and SOPs
- Report quality issues and assist in corrective actions
Process Monitoring & Improvement
- Observe workflow processes and suggest improvements
- Assist in identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and delays
- Support implementation of process improvements to enhance productivity
Coordination & Communication
- Act as a liaison between production, quality, and management teams
- Communicate instructions, updates, and priorities clearly to shop floor staff
- Follow up on pending tasks and ensure timely completion
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field
- 1–3 years of relevant experience (fresh candidates with strong skills may be considered)
