Production Engineer-Press

The Production Engineer (Press) will be responsible for executing and optimizing press operations within the production line, ensuring that panels and components meet the highest quality, strength, and durability standards. The role requires hands-on involvement in machine operation, production planning, process improvement, resource utilization, and defect minimization to achieve consistent output and production targets.

Requirements

1. Production & Process Control

• Plan, monitor, and execute daily press operations (lamination, veneer pressing, PVC, membrane, or hot/cold press).
• Ensure adherence to production plans, capacity utilization, and quality standards.
• Monitor machine parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time) to achieve consistent results.
• Optimize press cycle times to reduce bottlenecks and increase throughput.

2. Machine Maintenance & Technical Support

• Ensure preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of press machines.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for breakdown repairs and equipment upgrades.
• Maintain technical records of machine performance and downtime.

3. Quality Assurance

• Conduct in-process inspections to ensure product quality (adhesion, finishing, dimension accuracy).
• Implement corrective and preventive actions in case of defects or deviations.
• Support QA/QC team in root cause analysis of press-related rejections.

4. Resource Management

• Supervise press operators, helpers, and technical staff.
• Ensure efficient material usage (glue, veneer sheets, laminates, boards) with minimum wastage.
• Provide training and skill development to press section staff.

5. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and ISO requirements.
• Implement 5S and lean practices in the press section.
• Maintain documentation for audits and compliance checks.
