We are looking for a Production In charge who is responsible for overseeing and managing daily production operations ensuring that spices, desserts, and related food products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality and hygiene standards. The Production In charge ensures the optimal use of manpower, materials, and machinery to achieve production targets on time.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Execution

  • Plan, organize, and supervise daily production schedules based on production targets, sales forecasts, and inventory levels.
  • Allocate resources (manpower, machines, and materials) efficiently to meet daily and weekly production goals.
  • Ensure smooth coordination with Planning, Store, and Maintenance departments for raw material availability and equipment readiness.
  • Monitor process flow to minimize downtime and wastage.

2. Supervision & Team Management

  • Lead, supervise, and guide production staff, machine operators, and line workers.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure proper discipline, attendance, and safety compliance among workers.
  • Conduct on-the-job training for operators and workers to improve efficiency and maintain product quality.
  • Motivate and develop a culture of teamwork and accountability on the production floor.

3. Quality & Food Safety Compliance

  • Ensure that all production activities comply with company quality standards, food safety (FSSC 22000, HACCP), and GMP guidelines.
  • Monitor critical control points during production and ensure adherence to recipe formulations and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Coordinate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team for in-process checks, sampling, and corrective actions in case of deviations.
  • Ensure proper cleaning, sanitation, and hygiene practices in all production areas.

4. Production Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track daily production performance against targets (output, yield, downtime, wastage).
  • Maintain and verify batch production records, material usage reports, and line performance logs.
  • Report any deviations, breakdowns, or material shortages to the Production Manager.
  • Analyze production data to identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction.

5. Equipment & Process Management

  • Ensure all production machinery and equipment are operated safely and maintained properly.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance department for preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
  • Suggest improvements in process design, machine efficiency, and line balancing to enhance productivity.

6. Inventory & Material Control

  • Monitor raw material and packaging material consumption during production.
  • Ensure proper reconciliation of input vs. output and report any discrepancies to the relevant departments.
  • Request materials in advance to avoid line stoppages.
  • Ensure minimal wastage and optimum utilization of resources.

7. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Enforce factory safety policies, ensuring workers use (PPE) personal protective equipment and follow safe working procedures.
  • Report and document accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Promote awareness of hygiene, safety, and environmental compliance among workers.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Good understanding of production planning, process control, and efficiency improvement.
  • Sound knowledge of equipment operation and preventive maintenance.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills.
  • Computer proficiency (MS Excel, ERP, production tracking software).
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple production lines.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical / Chemical Engineering.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in FMCG food manufacturing, preferably in spices & desserts processing.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, mixing/blending operations, filling/packing lines, and food safety standards.
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO/FSSC 22000, and factory operations management.
