Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Production Manager for our Home and Office Furniture Manufacturing Facility. The candidate will be responsible for managing the entire production process and ensuring that all furniture products are manufactured efficiently, according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

The Production Manager will coordinate with the Sales and Design teams, supervise factory operations, manage machinery and manpower, and ensure timely completion of orders.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

• Plan, organise, and supervise daily production activities in the furniture factory.

• Ensure production is carried out strictly according to approved drawings provided by the Sales and Design team.

• Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of orders.

• Maintain high standards of quality, productivity, and efficiency in manufacturing.

Factory Operations

• Manage operations of automatic and manual woodworking machinery including CNC, panel saws, edge banding machines, drilling machines, and other furniture manufacturing equipment.

• Ensure machines are used efficiently and maintained properly.

• Implement safe working practices and factory discipline.

Workforce Management

• Manage and supervise factory staff including carpenters, machine operators, polishers, painters, and upholstery workers.

• Arrange additional skilled labor (carpenters, polish/painters, upholstery teams) on daily wage basis when required to meet production deadlines.

• Allocate manpower according to production requirements.

Upholstery & Material Knowledge

• Have strong knowledge of foam density, fabric types, cushioning materials, and upholstery techniques.

• Select and recommend suitable materials to ensure comfort, durability, and quality of seating products such as sofas, lounge chairs, and office seating.

Coordination

• Work closely with Sales, Design, and Procurement teams to ensure smooth production flow.

• Resolve production issues related to design, materials, or technical specifications.

Quality Control

• Ensure furniture products meet design specifications, finishing standards, and quality benchmarks.

• Inspect finished goods before delivery.

Reporting

• Prepare daily and weekly production reports.

• Report factory performance, production targets, and operational issues to the GM Factory and Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Furniture Manufacturing, Wood Technology, Interior Design, Industrial Production, or a related field.

• Technical training in furniture production will be an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in furniture manufacturing.

• Experience in home furniture, office furniture, and upholstery production.

• Hands-on experience working with automatic and manual furniture machinery.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes.

• Ability to read and execute technical drawings.

• Knowledge of wood materials, boards, foam, fabrics, and finishing materials.

• Strong leadership and team management skills.

• Good problem-solving and decision-making ability.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.

Preferred Candidate

• Experience working in modern furniture factories with automated machinery.

• Strong understanding of upholstery furniture and seating comfort specifications.

• Ability to manage large production teams and subcontract labor.
