Production Planner

OSI Optoelectronics is seeking a Production Planner who will ensure proper inventory and scheduling of materials for the production of optoelectronic and electronic devices and components. This individual will monitor and control inventory of raw materials and establish and monitor the production schedules for the facility to achieve customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
  • Acts as primary contact with sales, manufacturing, and logistics, determining resource constraints and developing plans to achieve customers' needs.
  • Reviews and executes MPS (Master Production Schedule) based upon customer requirement, raw materials, and production capacity.
  • Reviews scheduling and material availability, in order to release new production to the floor.
  • Works directly with buyers to order and schedule raw materials.
  • Status’ production orders, returns excess material to stock, and closes completed production orders.
  • Confirms and maintains customer delivery schedules.
  • Informs sales and production of any scheduling changes due to lack of material, capacity, or technical issues.
  • Participates in regular production planning meetings that include representatives from sales, production, shipping, customer service, and purchasing departments.

  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required. Associate degree in Business or a related field desired.
  • Related experience in materials management, production planning, or materials control function desired.
  • Must possess great interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience in production and material planning in a computerized ERP/MRP environment desired.
  • Experience using Microsoft D365 ERP system a plus.
  • Professional certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) highly desired.

The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.
Base salary is one component of your total rewards package. You may be eligible for long-term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
