Job Purpose

The Production Planning Engineer (PPE) is responsible for project estimation, production planning, cost control, and coordination between Sales, Creative, Production, and Accounts to ensure smooth execution of retail branding, signage, POSM, exhibition, and fit-out projects.

This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and as per approved specifications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Estimation & Costing

• Prepare detailed cost estimations based on approved designs and client requirements.
• Develop BOQs including materials, manpower, fabrication, logistics, and installation costs.
• Coordinate with suppliers for updated pricing.
• Submit final estimation for approval to Production Manager.
• Track actual cost vs estimated cost after project completion.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

2. Production Planning

• Break down confirmed projects into actionable tasks.
• Prepare production schedules and timelines.
• Allocate projects to production teams in coordination with Production Supervisor.
• Ensure raw materials are available before job commencement.
• Monitor daily progress and address bottlenecks.

3. Coordination & Documentation

• Review Job Order Forms received from Sales.
• Ensure all project details are complete before production begins.
• Coordinate with Creative Team for technical drawings and clarifications.
• Support Accounts Team with cost breakdown when required.
• Maintain proper documentation for each project (Estimation Sheet, Job Order, Delivery Notes, etc.).

4. Quality & Site Execution Support

• Conduct pre-dispatch quality checks.
• Coordinate with site team for installation timelines.
• Supervise outsourced jobs and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Assist Production Manager in resolving site-related issues.

5. Reporting & Process Control

• Submit weekly project status reports.
• Highlight delays, cost escalations, or risk areas.
• Maintain updated project tracker.
• Participate in monthly review meetings with Management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Estimation accuracy (variance % between estimated and actual cost)
• On-time project delivery rate
• Reduction in material wastage
• Turnaround time for costing
• Number of production delays due to planning gaps

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Production / Industrial preferred)
• 3–5 years’ experience in advertising production, signage, exhibitions, retail fit-out, or similar industry
• Strong knowledge of materials (wood, metal, acrylic, printing, branding materials)
• Experience in cost estimation and BOQ preparation
• Proficiency in Excel and project tracking tools
• Ability to read technical drawings

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
