Production Systems & Records Analyst

About the Role

We’re a small, family-owned ecommerce spice company looking for a detail-oriented, dependable person to join our operations team as a Data & Records Specialist. This is an entry-level, on-site role with real day-to-day responsibility—not a project-based or research position.

The majority of this role is hands-on data maintenance: cleaning and reconciling records, keeping our Google Sheets-based production and inventory systems accurate, and supporting the workflows that production depends on every day. You’ll work closely with our lead business analyst and operations management team.

Our systems are live and multi-user, with multiple team members accessing and entering data simultaneously — accuracy and care in that environment are essential.

Over time, you’ll support more advanced work—including integrations with AppSheet and BigQuery—but that comes after you’ve built a solid understanding of our current systems and the operations they support. What a Typical Day Looks Like

  • Auditing existing data for accuracy, consistency, and completeness
  • Troubleshooting formulas, data validation, and workflow issues within our Google Sheets-based production systems, which serve as the operational backbone for daily production activity
  • Spending time on the production floor to understand how data connects to real workflows
  • Implementing small, targeted improvements to existing systems as you build familiarity with our workflows
  • Reconciling inventory counts and catching discrepancies before they reach production
  • Maintaining lot records, receiving logs, and recipe data in Google Sheets
  • Gradually taking on integration and automation work as you become familiar with our systems

What We’re Looking For

  • Proficiency in Google Sheets or equivalent Excel experience — our systems are Google Sheets-based, and strong Excel skills translate directly
  • High attention to detail—you notice when something doesn’t add up
  • Clear communicator; able to work with both technical and non-technical teammates
  • Service-first mindset: you find genuine satisfaction in keeping critical systems running accurately and reliably
  • Approaches new environments with curiosity and patience — focused on understanding how and why systems work before proposing improvements

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Background in operations, manufacturing, food production, or inventory management
  • Exposure to AppSheet, BigQuery, or similar tools
  • Light IT troubleshooting (printer connectivity, network basics)
  • Basic SQL experience or coursework (familiarity with querying and data structure concepts)
  • Exposure to Google AppScript or similar scripting tools
