Center for Interprofessional Education Overview

The Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education (CIPE) is a collaborative effort of the 10 health science schools on the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Flint, and Dearborn campuses, with support from the Provost's office on the Ann Arbor campus. We are working to transform health professions education from a traditionally siloed approach to one in which students are engaged across professions, learning about, from, and with one another. Our singular goal is to innovate and implement interprofessional practice and education to improve the quintuple aims of health.

Position Overview

The University of Michigan Center for Interprofessional Practice & Education (CIPE) is seeking a Curriculum Program Manager who is both a strategic leader and hands-on executor. This individual will lead the implementation, development, and continuous improvement of the IPE longitudinal curriculum to ensure alignment with institutional goals and prepare learners for effective interprofessional practice. They will also manage the technical and administrative workflows to ensure the curriculum's success. This role is ideal for a collaborative leader who enjoys high-level program design but is equally energized by the "doing" - from building Canvas pages to managing student inquiries.

The ideal candidate for this role is a problem solver with exceptional program management skills. They must hold a passion for innovative pedagogy and the people skills to lead diverse stakeholders toward a common goal. This person is a "leader-doer" who can pivot seamlessly between presenting to leadership and executing the fine details of a course.

Responsibilities*

50% Longitudinal IPE Curriculum Implementation, Management, and Continuous Quality Improvement

• Direct Implementation: Lead the implementation of longitudinal IPE offerings, in partnership with faculty leads.
  • Create, manage, and edit Canvas pages for all longitudinal IPE offerings, ensuring up-to-date course materials, embedded surveys, and learner-facing communications, in partnership with faculty leads.
  • Coordinate pre-, during-, and post-module communications and grading workflows for longitudinal offerings.
  • Onboard and support faculty integrating IPE longitudinal curriculum, including delivering implementer orientations, fielding questions, and conducting post-module debriefs.
  • In partnership with the research and evaluation team and faculty leads, strategically review and integrate improvements in curriculum offerings on an annual basis.
  • Lead partnerships with academic units to support innovative curriculum implementation and sustainability.
• Student Success Management: Track and maintain student rosters across longitudinal IPE offerings; coordinate enrollment, grading, and learner communications with implementing faculty and partner programs.
  • Oversee standards for grading systems, evaluations, and learner communications to ensure academic integrity and improve educational practices, in partnership with faculty leads.
  • Collaborate with the Research and Evaluation team on assessment and evaluation of longitudinal IPE offerings.
  • Data Integrity: Maintain FERPA-compliant handling of student records (including rosters, final grades, and assessment data); coordinate school enrollment and grade reporting.

30% Strategic Direction and Program Oversight

• Maintain comprehensive oversight of IPE longitudinal curricular elements to deliver cohesive and scaffolded learning experiences, ensuring curriculum progression to adequately prepare students for real-world practice settings.
• Manage the expansion and scaling of the IPE longitudinal offerings across diverse program needs, driving systemic improvements in educational outcomes.
• Collaborate to ensure cohesion of curricular efforts with educator development, research, and practice improvement.
• Lead or support the dissemination of curriculum work through conferences, peer-reviewed publications, and presentations.

20% Leadership, Collaboration, and Stakeholder Liaison

• Participate in relevant committees, workgroups, and meetings; prepare agendas and updates, and reports as required.
• Meet regularly with CIPE leaders and team for alignment, planning, and progress reporting.
• Build and maintain partnerships with academic units to ensure IPE offerings align with various program needs and priorities
• Mentor students and trainees as required, in coordination with the CIPE team.
• Produce curricular reports for Center leadership, the Curriculum Committee, and partner schools, including annual CQI summaries and tracking of longitudinal offering engagement.

Required Qualifications*

• Bachelor's degree in education, health professions, healthcare administration/management, public health, or a related field. Exceptional candidates with closely related experience may be considered in lieu of degree field.
• 3-5 years of program management experience in higher education, curriculum, health professions, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Canvas or a comparable LMS, including page creation, gradebook configuration, and embedded survey integration.
• Project management experience coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives across teams, programs, or departments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate program activity into clear updates for leadership.

Desired Qualifications*

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Experience with managing/supervising individual(s).
• Prior experience in interprofessional practice and education (IPE).
• Experience handling FERPA-protected student data, including rosters, grades, and assessment records.
• Experience with Qualtrics or comparable survey platforms, including data export and reporting workflows.
• Experience working across multiple academic units.

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

M-F, 8 am-4 pm roughly

Additional Information

This is a hybrid position and requires two days per week on-site at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor campus.

Background Screening
