Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Controls Engineer to manage and monitor project planning, scheduling, progress, costs, and overall project performance. The successful candidate will coordinate with engineering, procurement, fabrication, site execution, QA/QC, and commercial teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with company and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
- Establish project baselines for schedule, manpower, and resource planning.
- Monitor engineering, procurement, fabrication, delivery, and site installation activities.
- Track project progress against the approved baseline schedule and milestones.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management and clients.
- Develop and update 2-week and 4-week look-ahead schedules.
- Identify schedule delays, critical activities, and project risks.
- Prepare recovery schedules and acceleration plans to minimize delays.
- Perform critical path analysis and schedule variance analysis.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Planning, Procurement, QA/QC, Commercial, and Production teams.
- Monitor procurement status and material deliveries to avoid project delays.
- Track fabrication, welding, painting, galvanizing, dispatch, and erection progress.
- Review subcontractor performance and monitor compliance with project schedules.
- Verify site progress against approved schedules and work plans.
- Monitor manpower productivity, equipment utilization, and resource allocation.
- Assist in manpower forecasting and resource planning.
- Monitor project costs, productivity, and earned value performance.
- Support project budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities.
- Prepare project dashboards, KPIs, S-Curves, manpower histograms, and performance reports.
- Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, work packages, and execution plans before project execution.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal departments regarding project schedules and deliverables.
- Participate in project kick-off, progress review, and coordination meetings.
- Evaluate schedule impacts related to variations and change orders.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and planning records.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, company procedures, quality standards, and HSE policies.
- Support project close-out activities, final reporting, and lessons learned documentation.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, or Construction Engineering.
- 3–7 years of experience in Project Controls, Planning, or Construction Projects.
- Experience in Structural Steel, PEB, Oil & Gas, Industrial, Infrastructure, or Commercial Construction projects is preferred.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and project reporting tools.
- Ability to prepare S-Curves, Histograms, Dashboards, and Progress Reports.
- Knowledge of project scheduling, cost control, resource planning, and risk management.
- Ability to read IFC drawings, shop drawings, and project specifications.
- Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
