Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of modular building solutions for oil and gas projects. The role involves working with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones, technical specifications, and quality standards are met for the delivery of prefabricated and modular units used in upstream, midstream, or downstream applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and execution of modular building projects for oil and gas facilities (e.g., control rooms, accommodation units, MCC rooms, substations, process modules).
- Liaise with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure project objectives are achieved on time and within budget.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with modular fabrication yards, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure timely production and delivery of modules.
- Monitor construction and assembly of modules at fabrication facilities for compliance with engineering and HSE standards.
- Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT), inspections, and quality assurance activities.
- Support project documentation, including method statements, ITPs, material submittals, and progress reports.
- Ensure integration of modules with site utilities, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Provide technical input for bid packages, tender evaluations, and client presentations.
- Manage engineering change requests, deviations, and non-conformance issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, industry standards (e.g., API, ASME, IEC), and company procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in oil & gas projects, with a focus on modular building solutions or offsite construction.
- Familiarity with modular construction methodologies and benefits (e.g., reduced site work, faster delivery, improved safety).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other engineering design software.
- Knowledge of international codes and standards related to modular structures (e.g., AWS, ASME, AISC, API).
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Willingness to travel to fabrication yards and project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in offshore or remote modular camp construction.
- Exposure to oil & gas projects in harsh environments (e.g., desert, arctic, offshore).
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Mix of office-based work, yard/fabrication shop visits, and potential site deployments.
- Collaborative environment with engineering, procurement, HSE, and construction teams.
- Fast-paced and deadline-driven culture aligned with oil & gas project schedules.
