Job Summary
The Project Engineer will be responsible for site execution, coordination, and engineering documentation for structural steel erection and piping works in oil & gas construction projects. The role requires strong AutoCAD skills for preparation of shop drawings and hands-on experience in developing method statements, quality inspection reports, and project documentation in line with oil & gas standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering & Documentation
- Prepare and revise shop drawings using AutoCAD for structural steel and piping works
- Develop and submit method statements, work procedures, ITPs, and TRA/JSA as per project and client requirements
- Prepare quality inspection reports, inspection requests (IRs), and test records
- Coordinate with engineering teams for RFI, design clarifications, and drawing updates
- Maintain as-built drawings and final handover documentation
Site Execution & Coordination
- Supervise and coordinate structural steel erection and piping installation activities at site
- Ensure works are executed in compliance with IFC drawings, approved shop drawings, specifications, and method statements
- Coordinate daily activities with site supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors
- Monitor manpower, equipment utilization, and productivity at site
Planning & Progress Monitoring
- Support preparation of look-ahead schedules and work plans
- Monitor site progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports
- Assist the Project Manager in tracking milestones and resolving site constraints
Quality Control
- Ensure compliance with project quality requirements and ITPs
- Coordinate with QA/QC team during inspections and close-out of NCRs and punch lists
- Ensure all inspection records and quality documents are properly maintained
HSE Compliance
- Ensure implementation of HSE plans, PTW systems, and TRA/JSA at site
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings
- Support safe execution of lifting and erection activities
Client & Stakeholder Interface
- Attend meetings with Client, PMC, and Third-Party Inspectors
- Provide technical clarifications and support during inspections and audits
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
- 5–8 years of experience in oil & gas construction projects, with exposure to:
- Structural steel erection
- Piping installation and pipe rack works
- Prior experience with EPC contractors or oil & gas subcontractors
Technical Skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD for preparation of:
- Shop drawings
- As-built drawings
- Strong knowledge of:
- Structural steel erection methods
- Piping installation practices
- Oil & gas construction documentation
- Good command of MS Office for reports and correspondence
- Familiar with ADNOC / Aramco / international oil & gas standards (preferred)
Soft Skills
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Ability to manage site activities and documentation simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with good reporting skills
- Ability to work under schedule pressure
Preferred Certifications (Advantage)
- NEBOSH / IOSH or equivalent HSE certification
- Knowledge of lifting operations and rigging practices
- CSWIP or welding inspection exposure (for piping works)

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
