Department: PMT-South

Reporting To: Head of Projects

Location: Karachi

Job Type: Full-Time, Site-Based Execution

Role Overview:

The Execution Lead is the dedicated on-site manager responsible for overseeing the entire field execution lifecycle. This critical role ensures the technically correct installation, smooth commissioning, and successful handover of PLC/SCADA systems, industrial electrical works, and Automatic Tank Gauging (ATG) installations. The position demands disciplined resource management across complex, multi-site environments, playing a key role in ensuring safety compliance, timely progress, and high-quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

A. PLC/SCADA & Automation Execution

  • Supervise the installation, wiring, and termination of PLC/SCADA panels, Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), communication networks, and system hardware.
  • Support and direct control teams during critical testing phases, including I/O checks, logic validation, interlock testing, and communication setup.
  • Ensure the accuracy of field wiring, device addressing, and seamless system integration with sensors, actuators, MCC/VFDs, and ATG systems.

B. Electrical & MCC/VFD Works

  • Oversee the installation of electrical panels, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), power cables, grounding systems, and circuit protections.
  • Lead pre-energization activities, including Insulation Resistance (IR) tests and continuity checks, to ensure electrical integrity and safety.
  • Coordinate closely with electrical supervisors and technicians to ensure the proper and safe sequencing of all site activities.

C. ATG System Installation & Commissioning

  • Supervise the field installation and configuration of ATG probes, sensors, consoles, communication modules, tank fittings, and related cabling.
  • Lead all ATG testing, including probe calibration, alarm checks, level validation, and final integration with PLC/SCADA or Tank Management Systems (TMS).
  • Ensure rigorous compliance with OEM installation guidelines and all necessary safety protocols for tank-related works.

D. Site Execution Management

  • Plan, allocate, and supervise daily activities for diverse site teams, including internal technicians, fitters, electricians, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure all works strictly comply with approved drawings, Method Statements, ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), and QA/QC requirements.
  • Proactively monitor site progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and resolve technical and execution issues promptly to maintain schedule.

E. Resource Handling & Coordination

  • Manage efficient manpower deployment and resource allocation across multiple work fronts/sites.
  • Ensure the productivity, safety discipline, and performance of all site execution teams.
  • Coordinate material handling, site logistics, and ensure the readiness of tools and equipment.
  • Liaise effectively with engineering, procurement, OEMs, and customer representatives for unified execution.

F. Testing, Commissioning & Handover

  • Lead the execution of all final system testing, including loop checks, functional testing, interlock validation, and network testing.
  • Prepare, manage, and secure the closure of punch lists, test reports, and all necessary commissioning documentation.
  • Support the final system handover and formal customer acceptance processes.
