Job Description – Project Head (Construction Industry)
Position: Project Head
Industry: Construction (Buildings /Residential/ Real Estate Projects)
Location: Madhavaram
Reporting to: Managing Director
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
- Prepare overall project plan, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Ensure smooth execution of projects from design stage to handover.
- Implement project management systems and tools for tracking progress.
2. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead a multidisciplinary project team (engineers, supervisors, site managers, contractors).
- Allocate responsibilities, monitor performance, and ensure skill development.
- Resolve conflicts and provide guidance to site teams for smooth operations.
3. Cost & Budget Management
- Prepare project budgets and monitor expenditure against approved costs.
- Approve vendor bills, contractor payments, and variation claims.
- Ensure cost optimization without compromising on quality and safety.
4. Quality & Safety Assurance
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and project drawings.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols at all project sites.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high standards.
5. Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, government bodies, and clients.
- Conduct progress review meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure client satisfaction and timely communication on project updates.
6. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure statutory compliance (labour laws, environmental, safety norms, RERA, etc.).
- Anticipate project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Resolve disputes, delays, and claims effectively.
7. Reporting & Documentation
- Provide regular MIS reports on project progress, costs, delays, and challenges.
- Maintain proper documentation of contracts, drawings, licenses, and approvals.
- Submit final project completion reports and ensure smooth handover.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, project planning, and execution.
- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, ERP systems).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-handling skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering (M.Tech / MBA in Project Management preferred).
- 15–20 years of experience in construction, with at least 5–7 years in a senior project leadership role.
- Proven track record of handling large-scale residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
