Purchase Assistant – Footwear

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Job Purpose:

To support the procurement team in sourcing, purchasing, and managing footwear products and materials, ensuring timely availability, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in sourcing footwear products, raw materials, and suppliers.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders as per company requirements.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Monitor and follow up on order status to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain vendor databases and update product catalogues.
  • Assist in evaluating supplier performance (quality, reliability, cost, and delivery).
  • Coordinate with the design, production, and inventory teams to forecast purchasing needs.
  • Prepare reports on purchases, costs, and stock levels.
  • Support in resolving supplier-related issues such as delays, shortages, or quality discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, budgets, and ethical sourcing standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain (preferably in footwear, apparel, or retail industry).
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
