Job Summary
This role is responsible for procuring marine accessories needed for the workshop and customer orders. The accessories Purchasing Officer prepares pricing and inventory forms, coordinates with suppliers for quotations and deliveries, verifies incoming items, ensures timely issuance of accessories and maintains accurate warranty and stock records. The role supports supplier visits and inventory audits to ensure availability and proper tracking of accessories.

Duties

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals.
  • Manage purchasing activities for materials and services, ensuring timely delivery and quality compliance.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  • Prepares the Pricing Sheet Form for the customer quotation reference as per the request of the Workshop Manager and coordinate with the team leaders or assigned technicians for the materials list.
  • Prepares the Inventory Form for accessory items request in coordination with the team leaders or assigned technicians.
  • Coordinates with the suppliers for quotations, earliest delivery schedules, credit facility, warranty and negotiate the prices.
  • Inspects received items whether the delivered items are the same as the order, if the quantity delivered matches the order, or if there are damages or defects in coordination with the Storekeeper.
  • Ensures the timely distribution and issuance of the ordered items in coordination with the Storekeeper.
  • Builds and Maintains strong relationships with suppliers to facilitate efficient communication and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Conduct inventory checks for requested accessories to ensure proper tracking and reporting in coordination with the Storekeeper.
  • Tracks and manage warranties for purchased accessories, including organizing returns, replacement or issuance of credit notes.
  • Coordinate supplier visits to the workshop facility for specific requested items such as paints or other special accessories.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Quickbooks
  • Strong negotiation skills with experience in contract management and sourcing strategies.
  • Knowledge of procurement management principles, including MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and category management.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management concepts, logistics, and materials management practices.
  • Ability to analyze pricing structures and conduct quality management assessments of suppliers.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments is preferred, along with a solid understanding of federal regulations related to procurement.
  • Strong analytical skills for effective decision-making and problem-solving within the purchasing function.
