Position Summary

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchaser to manage end-to-end procurement activities for our Steel Fabrication and Telecom Infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, managing purchase orders, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining strong vendor relationships while achieving cost optimization and quality standards.

The successful candidate should have experience in procurement of engineering materials, electrical equipment, telecom products, fabrication materials, and general operational supplies.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Purchasing

  • Manage the complete procurement cycle, from purchase requisition to delivery of materials.
  • Source and procure materials, equipment, tools, and services required for production, projects, and operations.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), compare quotations, and conduct commercial evaluations.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts with suppliers.
  • Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely processing and approvals.

Vendor Management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with approved suppliers and identify new vendors.
  • Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, pricing, delivery, and service levels.
  • Maintain an updated vendor database and conduct periodic supplier assessments.
  • Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delays, shortages, and warranty claims.

Material Planning & Inventory Coordination

  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Projects, and Store departments to understand material requirements.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production or project delays.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the Stores team to maintain optimum inventory.
  • Assist in forecasting procurement requirements based on production and project plans.

Cost Optimization

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
  • Analyze market prices and procurement trends to obtain competitive rates.
  • Support management in achieving procurement savings without compromising quality.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain complete procurement documentation, including quotations, purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and delivery records.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing procurement documentation.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with suppliers, logistics providers, finance, and internal departments for smooth procurement operations.
  • Track purchase order status and follow up on deliveries to ensure on-time material receipt.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly procurement reports, vendor performance reports, and cost analysis reports.

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain operations.
  • Experience in purchasing engineering, electrical, mechanical, fabrication, or telecom materials.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Strong understanding of commercial terms, purchase contracts, and supplier agreements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Dynamics, or equivalent).
  • Good analytical, organizational, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple purchase requirements simultaneously.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications in Procurement or Supply Chain will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in Procurement or Purchasing.
  • Experience in Steel Fabrication, Telecom Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Engineering, Construction, or Industrial Projects will be highly preferred.

Pay: Rs60,000.00 - Rs80,000.00 per month
